When one has painted bullfight themes as often I have done, and when one is from the kind which gets quickly bored by repetitions, then one is a bullfight painter in big trouble.
The subjects are always the same, man and bull, perhaps some horse here and there, and when one is not a fanatic of bullfighting technical subtilities but rather addict to pleasure and impressions, then it looks always pretty much the same in the arena. This is why it is for me absolutely necessary to look always for new styles, new abstractions, new colours, etc.. It is not easy, but on the other side it is a fantastic exercise for the creativity, quite a fight with the old brain which always tries to go the usual way.
Today, I simply played with the light, making the torero appearing almost transparent, and part of the bull too. I also used some perspective deformation to increase a little bit the dramatic effect, which had almost disappeared into the light.
